Recently, a video has gone viral claiming that a private nursing home in Agra did the mock oxygen drill due to which 22 patients died.
On Tuesday ( 08th June 2021), the CMO R.C. Pandey and the Agra District Magistrate P.N. Singh both responded to the incident and announced that an inquiry had been ordered and appropriate action would be taken on the basis of the result.
P.N. Singh told the media, " we'll look into the video surfaced about these deaths. There were 22 critical patients admitted in the hospital but have no detail of their death".
The district manager told in a statement that no patient died on the day video was recorded.
The nursing home (Agra) was facing an acute shortage of oxygen cylinders, and they asked people to discharge their patients, but no one did so.
Arinjay Jain, owner of Paras Hospital NH2, told in a video that isn't verified yet that on 26th April, at 7 am, they snapped the oxygen supply for just 5 minutes, and soon 22 patients started turning blue and then the Doctors realised that they wouldn't survive if there's no oxygen supply. Then they asked the families of the other 74 patients to arrange for their own oxygen cylinders.
