Rain Proof Benches in Hyderabad
On the scenic Tank Bund Road and PVNR Marg, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) plans to install 30 water-resistant benches (formerly Necklace Road).
“The benches will give a much-needed sitting arena as well as help in tree protection,” said Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), on Twitter on Monday. The HMDA is giving Tank Bund and PVNR Marg a makeover by providing recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. On a 2.2-kilometer length of the arterial route, it has begun beautifying work.
These seats, which are placed around trees, will provide seating for tourists to popular areas while also protecting the trees. Along the Tank Bund and the PV Narasimha Rao Marg, formerly known as Necklace Road, a total of 30 benches will be installed.
Arvind Kumar, the Municipal Administration's Urban Development Principal Secretary, tweeted two photos of the new placements on Monday, noting that a number of the benches were "immediately popular."
“30 of these rain-proof benches are planned to be installed by @HMDA Gov on Tank-Bundroad and PVNR Marg.. this one was tested and was immediately popular. It will help protect trees @KTRTRS, in addition to offering a much-needed sitting area,” he tweeted.
