40 nations ready to help India in the fight against Coronavirus: Harsh Shringla.
On Thursday, Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla said that 40 nations are ready to help India in terms of oxygen cylinders, critical medicines, and injections at the time of the second wave in the country that is very critical.
He made these remarks at a news channel when India received 20 oxygen plants, ventilators, 20,000 medicine packs from Russian military aircraft; the US is also expected to give raw materials for the Covid-19 vaccines.
The external affairs minister is coordinating with the Health Minister to arrange oxygen, essential medicines , which are in shortage in India. “We are facing an unprecedented second wave of the pandemic. As of now, we have over three million active cases. This has obviously put considerable pressure on our healthcare system, on the capacities and resources that we have,” Shringla told the briefing.
At least 40 countries , including the major powerful countries like the US, Germany, Russia, and France, have extended their support to India. Indian foreign assistance is also in talks with the other countries to provide relief to the country.
Many countries are coming forward to help India, as New Delhi has helped provide raw materials to the pharmaceutical over the past year. The US also has extended help , as Joe Biden mentioned that India also helped the US at the early stage of the pandemic.
