Kolkata traffic on bridge-lockdown news
On Friday West Bengal recorded the highest single day spike which raised concern. West Bengal government on Saturday extended lockdown in the state till May 30.
The government took this step after the state health department bulletin reported a spike of 20,846 fresh Covid-19 cases that totals to 10,94,802 active cases in the state.
The death count rose to 12,993 after 136 deaths were reported on Friday, including five eminent doctors.
Here are the restrictions imposed in the state :
Schools, Colleges and Anganwadi centres and all government and private offices will remain closed.
Essential emergency services are allowed to function.
All shopping complexes, eateries and dine-in, salons, gyms, swimming pools will remain closed.
Retail shops will remain open from 7 am to 10 am.
Sweets, meat shops are permitted to open from 10 am to 5 pm.
Pharmacies and optical shops are allowed to open as usual.
Parks and zoos closed.
Metro services will remain closed as well as local trains and buses. Emergency services exempted.
Private cars, taxis will not be counted as emergency essential services.
Metro services will operate for front line and health workers.
Medical and food services are allowed. No other goods carrier.
All sorts of gathering prohibited.
All industries and manufacturing units will continue to be closed except for food and medical services.
