Air Canada extends suspension of flights to India till June 22
While the 30-day restriction on departures from India over the Covid-19 flood declared by Canada is due to end one week from now, Air Canada's suspension of administrations will proceed till the third seven-day stretch of June.
Air Canada is now only accepting booking beginning in late June, as a spokesperson for the airline told Global News that they "have further extended the suspension of flights from India until June 22".
"We did this in anticipation of the existing suspension of flights between the two countries being extended," the spokesperson added.
Before the suspension, both Air Canada and Air India were working practically everyday trips between the Canadian urban areas of Toronto and Vancouver and New Delhi in an air hall plan that came into place the previous summer.
The move-in April by the Canadian Government was accelerated by expanding pressure upon it to follow up on this matter after numerous instances of the B.1.617 variation of Covid-19 identified in India were accounted for in Canada.
