Affirming that her administration will expand "full support" to previous boss secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay, who has been served a show-cause notice by the Center for announcing 15 minutes late to Prime Minister Narendra Modi'sModi's typhoon survey meeting on May 28, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said the issue was a "closed chapter."
"The Alapan Bandyopadhyay chapter is closed now. He has retired from service. Whatever happens to him from here on in, the state government will extend full support," the chief minister told media persons after chairing a review meeting on cyclone relief at the state secretariat, which Alapan Bandyopadhyay attended, now an adviser to the CM, and HK Dwivedi, the new chief secretary.
Bandyopadhyay, a 1987-clump IAS official, resigned as boss secretary on May 31 – the day he was called by the Center to report in Delhi. Hours after the fact, he was named guide to the main priest of West Bengal.
