Another NEET candidate committed suicide in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, for fear of failing the exam
A 17-year-old girl, who aspired to be a doctor, committed suicide in Senur, Vellore district, Tamil Nadu, on Sunday, fearing that she would not perform well in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).The girl's father said that she was depressed as a result of her poor performance in the NEET exams.
Her father said that she was concerned that she would not be able to obtain the required score to pass the exam.Her family claims they tried to soothe her, but she committed suicide by hanging herself with a screen when no one was home.This is the third suicide connected to the NEET exams, which were held in Tamil Nadu in September of this year.Earlier on Sunday, a 19-year-old medical student in Salem, Tamil Nadu, was found hanging from the ceiling of his room, just hours before the NEET exam.
