Maharashtra’s Anti Terror Squad (ATS) seized more than 7kg natural uranium worth about rs
21.30 crore and arrested two people according to an official’s report. Uranium is a “highly
radioactive and dangerous to human life” as per an analysis of Bhabha atomic research centre

BARC at trombay for analysis, the official said.
He said,The ATS on Wednesday has registered a case under provisions of the Atomic Energy
Act-1962, by the regional director, central region, Atomic Minerals Directorate of Exploration of
Research, Nagpur for further proceedings. The accused were presented in court which ordered
their custody to ATS till 12th may.
