Army Chief briefs PM Modi about Army’s Covid-19 assistance.
Army Chief Manoj Mukund held the meeting with PM Modi and told him that the army would provide personal assistance to Covid-19 patients. He has held several meetings with the army members since Monday, and the army is helping the state government in providing temporary hospital beds.
“The army is opening up the hospitals for civilians and citizens in case of an emergency could approach their nearest hospital,” an official statement quoted Naravane telling Modi The armed forces and Defence research organization came up with the help after the cases in the country is surging at its peak. All the army officers are helping by providing basic amenities by aircraft and reaching to the state government in dealing with the crisis.
In Punjab, the army set up 100-hospitals beds after the request from the CM. they also converted Delhi Cantonment Hospital into Covid-19 hospitals for the covid patients after the surge in cases.
The meeting came after the India cases surge, and there is a need for safety precautions in transporting oxygen and other essential items in the country.
A day before, PM held the meeting with IAF Chief Marshal RK Bhaduria, who gave assistance for the 24*7 efforts in fighting the second wave.
