A 33-year-old folk singer, Bikramjit Bauliya belonging from Malugram area situated in the Silchar, Assam, he sings over the phone for the COVID-19 positive patients for boosting the mental health of the patients. Few days ago he posted on social media and got many calls. From various parts of Assam over 200 people have called from so far and also from other states to hear him singing.
Bikramjit got inspired from the Bengali singer Lopamudra Mitra and has started this campaign. Many singers which included Lopamudra Mita and Shilajit Mazumder called him and appreciated him for this campaign.
“Some people are criticising me by saying that it is just another publicity stunt. But these people are not ready to discuss mental health. I got calls from various singers, and they appreciated my initiative. No matter how people criticise me, I am going to continue this because I believe, we need to work on mental health.”
