BJP asks Delhi government to clarify how many vaccines it procured
On Thursday, The Bharatiya Janata Party has asked the Delhi Government to come clean on the arrangements which it has made for procuring the vaccines and for setting up the oxygen plants while accusing it of politicizing the Centre of the vaccine procurement for deflecting the attention from what it should have done to provide them.
The spokesman of BJP, Sambit Patra said that only 13% of people have been vaccinated in the Capital. “Nearly 46 lakh [4.6 million] free vaccines were supplied by the Centre to Delhi. Private hospitals... procured about 9 lakh [90,00,00] doses of vaccines while the Delhi government managed to procure just a little over 8 lakh [80,00,00].”
The Private hospitals have managed to get the vaccines of their own rather than from the Delhi government, according to Patra. He also said that the Aam Aadmi Party government has to also clarify about how much the Russian Sputnik Vaccine is ordered and also paid.
The BJP-led Centre and THE AAP government are at the loggerhead over the vaccine policy, also for the allotment of the oxygen in Delhi. The State Government has also alleged that the Centre is not supplying oxygen to it as per the required quantity.
