Bodies were found buried in sand by the Ganga river in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao.
Reports said days back that bodies of COVID patients were seen floating in the Ganges in Bihar and Eastern UP parts. Fresh reports say bodies have been spotted to have been buried in sand by the Ganga river in two of UP's Unnao district.
"Some people do not burn the bodies but bury them in the sand by the river. After I got information, I sent officials to the spot. I have asked them to carry out an enquiry and we will take action," the District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar spoke to the media.
A government official said that there had been no confirmation that these bodies were COVID patients. In A mobile video, bodies by the river buried in sand have been spotted\, locals gathered to have a look, and the bodies were wrapped in saffron cloth.
"We have got the information. Our officers are present on the spot and an investigation is underway. We are trying to find out where they came from," MP Singh, the Ghazipur DM told the ANI news.
