Today morning the Taj Mahal in Agra was briefly evacuated after Uttar Pradesh Policereceived a hoax call about a bombat the iconic monument. The call was made to the police helpline followingwhich the police informed the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)personnel, who asked visitors to vacate the premises of the iconic 17th-centurymonument.
As a precautionary measure, tourists present inside thehistoric monument were immediately evacuated and both the entry and exit pointswere closed.
All possible locations in and around the Taj Mahal are beingchecked by the CISF, Agra police and a bomb disposal squad has also been calledat the spot.
So far nothing suspicious has been found. In the pasttoo, an unidentified caller had said there was a bomb at the Taj Mahal.Police and security agencies searched thoroughly for the bomb but it laterturned out to be a hoax.
The lights around the Taj Mahal were put on and sniffer dogswere also brought in. All possible locations in and around the Taj Mahalwere checked but nothing was found and the search operation was called off.
