According to the sources the CBI has given a clean chit to Lalu Yadav who has been the former railway minister and RJD leader in the DLF bribery case. The case which has been operating since 2018 was initiated by the economic offence branch of CB for a preliminary probe to fight corruption against him and the DLF group which deals in real estate.
The allegations of Lalu Yadav being bribed by the DLF group to lease railway land for a project in Bandra and upgradation of New Delhi station led to the CBI probe since the last two years. Now the CBI sources while talking to NDTV mention that the "preliminary enquiry was closed as no case has been made out of the allegations".
The sources also said that the investigation team wanted to make this enquiry a regular case by filing in a FIR but the former CBI chief RK Shukla ordered to close the case due to lack of evidence.
