UP CM Yogi Visit in Firozabad
At least 32 children and 7 adults have succumbed to a mysterious dengue fever in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath confirmed Monday (Aug. 30) to PTI news agency.
High fever and low platelet count have been identified as symptoms in patients with the disease. The deaths are being investigated by a team of medical experts from King George's Medical University in Lucknow, as well as a government observation team, the prime minister said.
After the disease spread, classes for grades 1-8 in Firozabad were suspended until September 6. Prime Minister Adityanath visited the self-governing faculty of medicine in Firozabad on Monday and briefed authorities on how to deal with cases of dengue fever and viral fever. said his office.
The CM also ordered the Firozabad District Judge and the Chief Medical Officer to conduct a detailed investigation into the causes of the viral fever.
He ordered agents to send the patients' blood samples to the Sanjay Gandhi Higher Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow for examination.
“A separate ward has been created for this suspicious fever in Firozabad and the dedicated COVID-19 ward has been reserved as separate ward," Adityanath was quoted as saying by The Hindustan Times.
The chief minister also said the first case of fever was discovered on August 18.
Firozabad BJP MP Manish Asija said on Sunday that more than 40 children had died from the disease in the district.
However, UP Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh denied the claim, PTI reported.
