Reports on approval of covaxin vaccine for children above 12 years came up earlier
which has now been terminated by the government. "A tweet has claimed that Bharat
Biotech's vaccine, Covaxin, has been approved for children above 12 years. This claim
is Fake. No such approval has been given by the Government of India. Currently,
citizens above the age of 18 are eligible for Covid-19 Vaccination," the Press
Information Bureau (PIB) tweeted. The Twitter handle shared screenshots of the news
claiming approval and brought into people's notice that the news was fake. Covaxin with
two other vaccines has been approved by the Indian government for its emergency use
for citizens above the age of 18 but the children under 18 are not to be vaccinated yet.
