The political leader on Monday took to his Twitter account to say positive words for Shami. He wrote, “Mohammad Shami, we are all with you. These people are filled with hate because nobody gives them any love. Forgive them." Apart from that several other politicians showed their support to Shami. Even the ex-Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, and along with that Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi also went on to condemn the fact that Shami was getting targeted because of his religious identity.
Even Indian Cricketers Harbhajan Singh, and Virender Sehwag also rallied towards the pacer. On Sunday, India lost their very first match in the tournament, by 10 wickets to Pakistan. In the dramatic match, Mohammad Shami was the most expensive bowler. Pakistan scored 43 runs off his 3.5 overs.
Shami has created a record for himself and is one of the fastest bowlers of India in recent times. Even other than that, apart from the recent times he has created a very good record in the past five years.
After losing to Pakistan, there was a flood of trolls against him on social media that directly targeted the religious identity of Shami. For this reason, many politicians along with several netizens, came up to support the 31-year old cricketer.
