DMK supporters and workers are off to celebrate their lead despite strict court orders
DMK supporters gathered outside Anna Arivalayam, the party headquarters, to celebrate their lead of 137 seats of 234 seats. There were court orders to put up no victory rallies or celebration concerning the surge of COVID19 second wave.
ANI tweeted this report with a video showing people, including women and children, gathered in front of the party headquarter with no masks, no fear of getting infected, no maintaining social distance. They were seen burning crackers. No police force was seen. No restrictions. Tamil Nadu, as per the report, was supposed to be under lockdown.
Doubts have arisen that such crowds will be seen in places in these five states after the final result.
ECI ordered to cancel all victory rallies. Only the winning candidate accompanied by only two other party workers could come to collect their certificates. If the surge of the second wave of COVID cases are not kept in mind, India will have to face the consequences.
Considering the increasing covid cases in the nation, ECI issued a warning today also wherein all the SHOs and concerned authorities are asked to control such gatherings and activities; they are also allowed to take the required action if required.
