Delhi government allows
This decision of Arvind Kejriwal has been taken to keep the air pollution of the national capital in control. For the adjustment of the air pollution under the control the government of Delhi has given an announcement that only CNG-vehicles and electric vehicles are allowed, in the city on 27th of November, on the other hand all the petrol and all the diesel transport vehicles are going to be banned till the 3rd of December. This information was given by Delhi environment minister Gopal Rai.
As pollution level in Delhi is reducing leading to an improved Air Quality Index (AQI) similar to pre-Diwali days, the Delhi government has taken a slew of measures to maintain it. Entry of trucks and other vehicles, except for those involved in essential services, from outside Delhi has been stopped," Rai said during a press briefing after a high-level meeting was conducted to decide on measures needed to keep Delhi's air clean. He further added that, “from November 27, only CNG-run and electric vehicles will be allowed entry into the national capital. All the other vehicles will remain banned till December 3."
The minister has also said that the schools, colleges and the other educational institutions are going to be reopened from 29th of November. Furthermore the government also lifted up the ban from the constructional activities sight-seeing the improvement in the quality of air. On the 18th of November the government had banned the entry of the trucks, and (except the essential goods), from the other states to Delhi till the 21st of November.
The quality of the air which is measured as an AQI which between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', then 401 and between 500 is considered 'severe'.
