"A record 119.3 mm rain fell in Delhi between 8.30am on Wednesday and 8.30am on Thursday,
which is a new record for May," the head of IMD's regional forecasting Centre, Kuldeep
This was probably due to the Cyclonic effect that ended at 8:30am on thursday. The rainfall is
somewhat double the previous record of 60mm rainfall on 24th May, 1976.
The maximum temperature of Delhi fell 16 degrees below normal to 23.8 degrees. The
minimum temperature was 21.4 degrees after the heavy rainfall.
