Delhi's AAP free pilgrimage site scheme will start from December 3

Under the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana (Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana) of the Delhi Government, a convoy of 1000 people will leave for Ayodhya on December 3.

Last month, the Delhi cabinet had approved the inclusion of Ayodhya in the scheme. Kamal Bansal, Chairman, Delhi Government's Pilgrimage Development Committee, said that under the scheme, the first train carrying 1,000 elderly pilgrims will leave for Ayodhya on December 3.

He commented, "Senior citizens are showing great interest in the pilgrimage scheme. A large number of applications are being received for pilgrimage to various places including Ayodhya. Pilgrims will be sent to other places once preparations are completed. "

Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Tirtha Yatra Yojana’, the Delhi government bears the cost of the entire pilgrimage in 13 circuits including places like Puri, Rameshwaram, Shirdi, Mathura, Haridwar and Tirupati.

Each passenger can be accompanied by one person aged 21 or over. The government also bears the cost.

Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Tirtha Yatra Yojana’, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi from the year 2019, makes the elderly citizens of Delhi go on pilgrimage to certain places of pilgrimage, including the pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi.

The entire cost of travel and accommodation and food during this pilgrimage is borne by the Delhi government. It also includes a pilgrimage to Char Dham.

On the other hand, last month Arvind Kejriwal himself had said that by visiting Ayodhya in UP, the elderly travelers from Delhi will be able to visit Ram Lala.

He had asserted to have called for a special cabinet meeting. In this meeting, Ayodhya in Delhi will also be included in the list of these pilgrimage sites, under which the Delhi government will provide free travel to the elderly.
