Earthquake in Pakistan
Quetta: a disastrous moment took place in south Pakistan as a shallow earthquake shook the lives of people during the early hours of Thursday as said in a statement by the officials. Due to this disaster, 15 to 20 individuals lost their lives as the roofs and the walls fell over them, after a powerful 5.7 magnitude quake, leaving the Balochistan province shattered.
This disastrous moment led to power cuts, which in turn forced the health workers to use flashlights and torches to find the corpses of the victims. According to the seismological center, the location of the epicenter was mainly identified near Harnai, with a duge depth of 15 kms. The earthquake hugely affected Quetta, Sibi, Harnai, Pishin, Qila Saifullah, Chaman, Ziarat and Zhob in Balochistan.
The worst affected area is identified as the remote areas of the mountainous city of Harnai, a location which consists of paved roads, which lead to a huge hamper among the rescuers. The disastrous moment left a huge fear among the people and in some of the social media sites, it is clearly seen in the aftermath of the Quake. Aftershocks are still reported in certain areas, the earliest tremors were felt around 3:20 A.M on Thursday, which created a huge tension among the people and some of the citizens were seen reciting the holy verses of the Quran.
The injured victims were further rushed and were taken to nearby hospitals, and the rescuers worked on to take off the dead bodies that got buried under the fallen roofs and the walls. Most of the injured victims came with fractured limbs, and dozens of individuals were sent back for first aid. As of now the worst injured people are receiving medical treatment in the hospitals.
