Australia, finally, after testing a number of times, recognises Covaxine in there pocket book. Giving an official statement, the Australian government said that apart from Covishield, Covaxine will now be recognised for visitors to enter the premises of the country. Not only visitors, anyone reaching the territory of Australia, now can have Covaxine in there green list.
Appreciating the gesture, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked Scott Morrison saying,'It is an important step towards the post-covid partnership between India and Australia.'
Till now, sixteen countries such as Australia, Nepal, Oman, Sri Lanka especially have recognised Covaxine for traveling purpose.
Australia's High Commissioner to India Barry O'Farrell tweeted,' Covaxy will now be treated as visitor's covidi vaccination status. Indian citizens as well as visitors from other countries will be treated as fully vaccinated if they possess covaxine.'
The Australian Health Ministry websites have also stated their point of vew. They said,'This recognition is for travellers aged twelve and above. Due to this decision, many of our students studying in India and working personalities will be back soon.'
It took Australia a long time to issue this permission. According to sources, the government were not sure enough at first to allow Covaxine. But, after having done a lot number of tests and experiments, the Australian doctors became sure enough of its potential.'
Covaxine is prepared by Bharat Bio-Tech. Along with Covaxine, China's BBIBP KorV also got certified by Theuroptic Goods Administration or TGA. According to Indian experts,' This decision had to be taken, be it today or tomorrow! A huge number of Australians reside in India who wanted to be back home as soon as possible. There was pressure on the government.'
