Covid-19 effected the India badly in many ways, it also effected the tourism sector very badly. To encourage the tourism, central government introduced a new scheme, which had announced On Monday.
On Monday Nirmala sitharaman, Finance minister announced in the presence of media, that issuing free tourist visas for the five lakh tourists.
During the information, finance minister reveals that 10.93 million forien tourists had visited India in 2019.and they spent $30.098 billion in India on leisure or business.
For a foreign tourist average stay in India is 21 days. They spent 34 dollars that is 2400 per day. Once visa issuance is restarted first, the first five lakh tourists visas will be charged free of cost. These benefits only applicable only once. Til March 31, 2022 or 5 lakhs visas are issued, this scheme is applicable.
The center also announced financial support for the people in tourism sector. It has been giving support to more than 11000 registered tourist guides, tourism stakeholders etc..
Ministry said that, loans for working capital or personal will be provided to people, who are in tourist sector, no processing charges will be paid.
The new loan guarantee scheme will support 10,700 regional level tourist guides and travel and tourism stakeholders recognized by the ministry of tourism and the state government, financial minister, nirmala sitharaman says.
