First Impressions of the Realme GT: The Makings of a ‘Flagship Killer'

Realme GT: ‘Flagship Killer'

Realme GT: ‘Flagship Killer'

It was invented by OnePlus, adopted by Xiaomi, and then adopted by Poco – but it has been a long time since a smartphone manufacturer has used it. I'm referring to the term "flagship killer," which refers to a smartphone with premium hardware but a low price. The Realme GT, which was recently launched at a price of Rs. 37,999, comes with a powerful processor and a long list of other outstanding features. It isn't cheap, but it is less expensive than today's top-end smartphones from Samsung, Apple, and even OnePlus. It will undoubtedly pique the interest of those looking for a high-end mid-range smartphone.

The top and bottom of the Realme GT's frame have been flattened. With a mix of vegan leather and plastic, the Racing Yellow finish I received for review features a racing-inspired vibe. The phone comes in two colours: Dashing Silver and Dashing Blue, both with glass backs.

The Racing Yellow model's rear panel is polycarbonate with a layer of vegan leather on top, making it comfortable to grip. The camera module on the GT appears to be designed to fit in with the back's polished black line. The Realme GT has a plastic frame with a power button on the right side and volume buttons and a SIM tray on the left. The Realme GT sports dual speakers, with the earpiece also serving as a speaker.

A 6.43-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum 360Hz touch sampling rate should be sufficient for gaming. Asahi's Dragontrail glass protects the display, which also has a hole-punch cutout for the camera. When I accessed Netflix, there was no hint of HDR10 functionality, despite the fact that it appeared to be a brilliant display (Realme advertises 1,000 nits peak brightness).
