NEW DELHI: Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is expected to visit Kuwait this week, three sources aware of the trend, said separately during his first bilateral tour since he took office in 2019 on Sunday. Kuwait has helped India to treat instances of Covid 19 in recent weeks using fluid medical oxygen, while New Delhi is fighting the second wave of infections.

"A warm call today with FM @anmas71 of Kuwait. Conveyed our appreciation for the maritime bridge with Kuwait that is enabling smooth oxygen flow," on 12 May, Jaishankar remarked on Twitter. Ahmad Nasser Mohammed Al Sabah will meet Jaishankar to hold discussions on the strengthening of relationships in March.

Both nations have previously stated they are seeking new ways to stimulate trade and investment and defense and security cooperation. "Kuwait has been instrumental in supplying us with liquid medical oxygen and cryogenic containers to transport the oxygen," one of the officials said.

"Taking forward historical ties of friendship. Kuwaiti ship arrives at Nhava Sheva, Mumbai (India). Three semi-trailers of LMO (25 MT each) and 1000 O2 cylinders onboard. Grateful to H.H. Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the Amir of the State of Kuwait & government of Kuwait". Spokesman Arindam Bagchi wrote in a Twitter message on 15 May, Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The so-called "oxygen bridge" "The Indian Air Force is  ferrying empty tankers back to Kuwait, where they were filled and transported back by sea, contributed much to relieve the country's needs, according to the first individual. "Being an oil-producing country, Kuwait has been producing liquid oxygen, which they offered to share with us," the officials said in a report."
