Former Uttar Pradesh Minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati along with two others convicted in the gang-rape case.

Uttar Pradesh: Ex- Uttar Pradesh, Minister Gayatri Prajapati, has been convicted along with 2 others in the Chitrakoot gang rape case that had happened in 2017. These three were convicted by a special court in Lucknow, on Wednesday. The special political MA/MLA court has given the verdict and has accused the three. Gayatri Prajapati has been found guilty under Section 376D, of the IPC and Section 5/6 of the POCSO Act, by Justice Pawan Kumar Rai. The order regarding the quantum of this sentence is going to be pronounced on the 12th of November. Apart from Prajapati, the court has also convicted the other two verdicts and the names of the accused are Ashish Shukla and Ashok Tiwari. The court had not found any of the pieces of evidence against Prajapati’s gunner Chanderpaul. And other than that the other two who were acquitted are PRO Rupeshwar alias Rupesh and Vikas Verma, son of a senior PCS officer, and Amarendra Singh alias Pintu. 
The rape case that took place in 2017:
The rape had taken place in 2017, and furthermore, in the year 2017, it had been alleged that a Chitrakoot-based woman had been gang-raped by Prajapati and his six aides. It was even attempted that the outrage took place upon the modesty of the minor daughter of the woman, while Gayatri was the minister of Uttar Pradesh. Furthermore, the case got registered in February 2017, and along with that, it was the order passed by the Supreme Court, which went on to say that the former minister had been booked up on the charges of rape and other serious charges, including sections of Pocso Act. Gayatri Prasad Prajapati had been in jail since March 15, 2017. 
With this, the victim of the rape case has even gone on to provide the statement, that the minister had even raped her several times, back in 2013 for a mining contract.
