Brad Pitt with Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie recently claimed that she and her ex-husband, actor Brad Pitt, had a falling out when he chose to work with former film producer Harvey Weinstein. The actress was asked about being brutally humiliated by someone in the industry in a recent interview with The Guardian. It was infamous movie mogul Weinstein, according to the actress, who she worked with in the movie Playing By Heart. Jolie also claimed that the convicted producer tried to assault her, leading her to issue a warning to the public to stay away from him.
Women usually try to downplay an assault if they are able to escape the situation, she told the publication. The attempt, on the other hand, is an assault. While she did not go into detail regarding the attempt, she told, “It was beyond a pass, it was something I had to escape. I stayed away and warned people about him. I remember telling Jonny, my first husband, who was great about it, to spread the word to other guys – don’t let girls go alone with him. I was asked to do The Aviator, but I said no because he was involved. I never associated or worked with him again. It was hard for me when Brad did.”
Pitt and Weinstein collaborated on Quentin Tarantino's movie Inglorious Basterds. Pitt allegedly asked Jolie to work as a producer on the noir thriller Killing Them Softly, which was later distributed by the Weinstein Company. Meanwhile, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who worked with Weinstein on the films Emma and Shakespeare in Love, stated that she told her then-fiancé Brad Pitt about her terrible experiences with him. During the conversation, she also stated concern for the safety of her "whole family" while married to Pitt. She has claimed Pitt of child abuse, and the former couple is currently involved in a contentious custody dispute over their six children. She explained that she is in a legal issue and that her decision to divorce him was not taken lightly. She also said “It took a lot for me to be in a position where I felt I had to separate from the father of my children.”
