Government Allows Home Covid Vaccines

The Union Ministry of Health on Thursday approved the Covid-19 vaccination at home for people with disabilities and reduced mobility. At a weekly press conference, Union Health Minister Rajesh Bhushan said we are still in the midst of the second wave of Covid-19, although the number of cases is on the decline. For the 12th week in a row, the weekly positivity rate continues to drop below 3%, while the nationwide recovery rate is 97.8%,

The health ministry said. However, the health ministry said 62.73% of the total infections reported last week came from Kerala alone, the only state with more than a lakh of active Covid cases."In the last 24 hours, 31,000 odd cases have been reported and most of these cases have been reported from Kerala & Maharashtra. However, absolute numbers have gone down. 62.73% of the total cases in the last week have been reported from Kerala," said Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan.Amid fears that the third wave of Covid-19 and festival season could begin,

The government has warned people of mass gatherings in closed areas and neighborhoods with a positivity rate greater than 5%  Meanwhile, the government said that 66% of India's adult population received at least one shot of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 23% received both doses."About 2/3rd of the adult population vaccinated with one dose- 66% of the 18+ age group received at least one dose, almost a quarter of the adult population have received both doses, it's an important milestone," said Dr VK Paul, member health, NITI Aayog.Regarding the UK 10-day quarantine regime for people vaccinated in India, department officials said it was a discriminatory practice."We believe that the dispensation that is proposed to be implemented from October 4 is a discriminatory practice. Both the sides are in dialogue and we believe a resolution will be found. We do reserve the right to reciprocate in a similar manner," Rajesh Bhushan said.
