A defamation Notice has been served on Ram dev by the Indian Medical Association for allegedly disparaging remarks against the Allopathy and allopathic doctors. The Indian Medical Association is demanding an apology from Ram dev within 15 days and if Ram dev fails to do so then he has to give the compensation of Rs 1000 crore from the guru of yoga.
The six-page notice has been served on the behalf of the Indian Medical Association’s secretary, Ajay Khanna with the help of his lawyer Neeraj Pandey which has described the remarks by Ram dev which has damaged the image of allopathy and of 2,000 practitioners who are the part of this association.
The remarks of the yoga guru have been termed as a “criminal act” under the section 499 of the Indian Penal Code. The notice has also demanded for a written apology from the yoga guru within a span of 15 days of its receipt. It also says that the compensation of Rs 1000 crore has been also demanded from the yoga guru at the rate of Rs 50 per member of IMA if he fails to seek apology.
The notice has also asked Ram dev for making a video clip for contradicting his allegations and to circulate it on the social media platforms, where he had previously uploaded the video levelling them.
