INS Vikrant's sea
INS Vikrant's sea trials have begun. There were photos and videos of an aircraft carrier going out to sea. INS Vikrant was India's first indigenous aircraft carrier (IAC-1) and a significant expansion of the Indian Navy. The aircraft carrier is expected to enter the Indian Navy in 2022.
The name Vikrant holds a legendary place in the history of the Indian Navy. Name of India's first aircraft carrier. In early 1957, the Indian Navy acquired an aircraft carrier from the British. It is called HMS Hercules and was built during World War II. However, it was not used and World War II ended.
The Indian Navy took over the ship in 1957 and made many changes before entering service in 1961. It was the ship that surprised India's enemies on the high seas. During the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War, ships and aircraft became a legend that cut off supplies to East Pakistan.
The new INS Vikrant is a big deal for the Indian Navy and should be of interest to all Indians. Building an aircraft carrier is not an easy task. So far, only the United States, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and China have received the local airline award. With the new INS Vikrant, India also entered this national league.
Codenamed IAC -1, which stands for Local Carrier -1, INS Vikrant is expected to be the first of several carriers built by India. The project started in 1999, just two years after the closure of the old INS Vikrant (R11).
Now INS Vikrant has gone to see to spend the rest of his life. The first sea trials of INS Vikrant have begun, and engineers at the Cochin shipyard and the Indian Navy will take the ship out into the open water.
