In Bihar, two boys find over Rs 900 crore in their bank accounts

In Bihar, two boys

Residents of a village in the Katihar of Bihar raced to ATMs and banks to check their account statements. What is the explanation for this? Two schoolchildren's accounts were unexpectedly flooded with crores of rupees overnight, and villagers hoping for the same great luck dashed to the banks.Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank has accounts for the two youngsters. They had hoped to get funds through a government program that helps them buy school uniforms and pay for other expenses.

They went to the village's public internet centre with their parents to see if the money had come. They were astonished to discover crores of rupees credited to their accounts when they checked their statements. Ashish, a Class 6 kid, has amassed a fortune of over 6.2 crore rupees. Guru Charan Vishwas, another kid, was startled to see over 900 crore in his account. The matter has been confirmed by the village head. As per local sources, the bank is looking into the transactions.

"I received information last evening that a huge sum has been found in the bank accounts of two boys. We are investigating it. We opened the bank branch early this morning to check how it happened. The branch manager told us there was some glitch in the computerised system of sending money. The amount was visible in their statements but the actual money wasn't in their account. I have sought a report from the bank," Katihar District Magistrate Udayan Mishra said. This is the second time in recent months that a large erroneous amount has been sent to a bank customer or made to appear on a bank statement in Bihar.

A guy from a village on the outskirts of Patna was sentenced to jail for refusing to return nearly Rs. 5 lakh that had been credited to his account by mistake. The man claimed the money was government aid given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and refused to return it to the bank.
