On Tuesday, Petrol price crossed ₹99 per litre in Mumbai. ₹90.71 per litre was the price of diesel and ₹99.14 per litre was of petrol. Diesel price was increased by 29 paise per litre and petrol by 27 paise.
This increment was the 10th time this month because of which petrol and diesel prices at highest rates across the country.
Due to this 10th time hike in prices, cities in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra had crossed ₹100 mark. Whereas in the Capital, New Delhi, the prices of petrol and diesel have climbed to ₹92.85/L and ₹83.51/L, respectively.
The fuel prices depend on the local taxes such as value-added tax (VAT) and freight charges. This is why prices are different in every state accordingly.
