'India No Longer Weak': Remarks Defence Minister

Alerting the nearby Chinese troops, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commented that India has come out mightier, and will revert back anybody threatening her integrity and sovereignty on the 59th anniversary of the epic battle of Rezang La in Japanese Ladakh.

The Defence Minister came to pay his tributes to the Indian army officials who sacrificed their lives in the battle of Rezang La on November 18, 1962, with the Chinese troops. He remarks there is no more a chance of getting away from India through threats. India has vouged and placed guards on every inch of her land.

The Defence Minister had devoted the renovation of the battle memorial to honour the bravehearts of our country, and dedicate it for the present preparedness of India in overcoming battles for integrity.

He stated in a quick deal with the presence of Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat and a number of other different high army officers that, ' India had come out stronger. She will fight off anyone who threatens her national harmony and peace.'

Ironically, his feedback came in on a day, when India and China commenced another round of diplomatic dialogue exchanges, on border affairs, to resolve a 18-month long border row conflict along the Line of Actual.

Mr Singh stated that he’ll proceed to go to Rezang La to pay homage to the fallen troopers until his Defence Minister tenure.

The battle of Rezang La shared a historic significance. It was the most interesting second clash between India and China in the course of 100 years, where only 100 Indian troopers pushed and reverted back on the Chinese army, portraying indomitable spirit and bravery.

The Defence Minister made it clear that his remark did not signify that India will vogue on a journey for occupying land, but rather send a firm reply to anybody threatening her national coordination and balance.

The battle of Rezang La is considered one of the 10 greatest and most challenging military conflicts around the globe. The clash of Rezang La remains a highly significant event today in terms of our Defence system. It was fought at an altitude of 18,000 feet. Combating all difficulties, Major Shaitan Singh and his fellow soldiers fought till ‘last bullet and last breath’ and wrote a new chapter of courage and vigilance.

Singh saluted the 114 Indian soldiers who made supreme sacrifices in the 1962 war of Rezang La.

The memorial was constructed in 1963 within the Chushul plains, along the India-China border to pay our honor to the concerned troops of Charlie Company of 13 Kumaon Regiment.

The resolution to renovate the memorial was suggested by Mr Singh when he visited Leh in June.

The renovated structures house great attractions. It shares features of a double-storied museum with a mini-theatre to display a particular documentary on the battle, a big helipad and numerous different vacationer facilities.

The Rezang La Memorial, situated very near the Pangong Lake in Ladakh, now remains a significant tourist attractor.

The battle of Rezang La began at 4 am on November 18, 1962, and lasted until round 10 pm through which the ‘C’ firm of thirteenth battalion of the Kumaon Regiment led by Major Shaitan Singh not only strengthened their grip, but inflicted heavy casualties on the Chinese troops in the face of their adversary.

Major Singh was later adorned with Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest army ornament.
Defence Minister Singh specially  met Brig (retd) RB Jatar who was a significant part of Rezang La battle to pay his saluted.

The revamped battle memorial has been thrown open at a time India and China were knitted in border row conflict in Japanese Ladakh for almost one and half years.

The Indian Army had occupied a variety of mountain peaks within the territory of the Rezang La area in August finally. In the course of 12 months, they were able to answer back to China, after repeated intimidation and threats.

As a result of a collection of armed and diplomatic dialogue exchanges, the 2 sides acquired the disengagement course within the north and south banks of the Pangong lake in February and within the Gogra space in August.

Facets have around 50,000 to 60,000 troops alongside the Line of Actual Control (LAC) within the delicate sector.
