India top the net run rate, still have a fair chance

Team India

Team India

India still keeps their hope high after playing a remarkable game against Scotland. Their exceptional batting has put them in the third position after Pakistan and New Zealand respectively. The men in blue cruised the eight wicket win over Scotland in the latest Super12 match of the 2021 T20 World Cup in Dubai on Friday.

By doing so, they still keep their hopes high as they still have a faint but "REAL" chance to go to the semi finals. Mohammad Shami was in his natural sizzling form when he along with Left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each to nail the most effective nail in Scotland's coffin. Jaspreet Bumrah bagged two wickets and by the time when Scotland ended their innings, the scoreboard was weak as they could give a target of only eighty six to team India.

In response, K L Rahul played a remarkable fifty helped Virat Kohli side to grab the most crucial two points along with eighty one balls left.

Though the match was a sure shot for India, but to be alive they had to reach the target within forty three balls. Experienced Rohit Sharma with young blood K L Rahul gave a remarkable start to the team and they opened the game with almost ten to twelve runs an over. Before India played agay Scotland, they lost two of their three crucy games against Pakistan and New Zealand. Hence, the run rate was +0.073. It was a tremendous jump after the win one last night as their net run rate jumped to +1.619, currently the best in their respective group.

Currently, Afghanistan have a net run rate of +1.481 and New Zealand have +1.277. Now, if Afghanistan are somehow able to beat the blackcaps in their game tomorrow, then India has a chance to win their last game with the run rate as required. India will play their last game against Namibia. Though, it is going to be a tough game for Afghay, but every Indian would be praying for the Afghans tomorrow! Of course, this is twenty- twenty, anything can happen anytime.
