Indian Premier League to return to India in 2022

he Board of Cricket Control in India has now confirmed that the fifteenth edition of the richest league in the world is returning in India with the upcoming new year. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has confirmed the news saying,' We are happy to announce that the latest edition of the Indian Premier League is returning to India in the upcoming year. No need to worry, we will be taking all the precautions as needed and directed by the Indian government. The BCCI secretary also added,'I know you all are waiting to witness the Chennai Super Kings play at Cheepuk. Well, the moment is not very far. The final fifteenth season of the Indian Premier League will be taking place within the Indian territories for sure. Definitely, it will be more exciting than ever with two new teams joining. We have a mega auction coming up, so it will be interesting to see what the new combinations look like.'
Though the 2021 year started the Indian Premier League to start in India, but, due to repetitive attacks of Covid -19 had forced the IPL committee to shift this year's league to the needy, UAE. Hence, the second part of the tournament shifted to Dubai, SHARJAH. International cricket has returned to India for the first time after the long break of Covid -19 pandemic. Though there is a slight rise in the number of Covid cases, the Board of Cricket Control in India has allowed thirty percent of the audience at the stands. Moreover, it is also said that this is the trial phase of the post Covid situation. Sources say, if still there is a constant rise of Covid cases, then once again the tournament may get shifted to UAE. But chances of shifting are very less.
