The senior Congress representative of parliament P. Chidambaram told the central government on Thursday about the economic situation in the country and compared the center to a patient who denies his illness.
The former finance minister echoed fears on Twitter that rising oil prices would lead to lower GDP and higher inflation. He tweeted that: "The CEA (Dr. Arvind Subramaniam) has given his diagnosis. Let's see whether the patient (the government in charge of the economy) is still in denial or it will take corrective action."
The tweet was posted minutes before Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the federal budget to Parliament.
