Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 9 wickets in the second match of the second leg of IPL 2021. In the match played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, KKR bowlers first bundled RCB for 92 runs and then scored 94 runs in 10 overs to win the match. For KKR, Varun Chakravarthy and Russell took three wickets each, followed by Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer with the bat.
The heroes of KKR's victory were both its opening batsman Varun Chakraborty and Andre Russell in their first bowling. There was an 82-run partnership for the opening wicket between Gill and Venkatesh. Gill was dismissed for 48 while Venkatesh remained unbeaten on 41 runs. In the bowling, Varun Chakraborty and Andre Russell took 3-3 wickets for KKR.
RCB's team was all out after scoring just 92 runs against KKR. Devdutt Padikkal scored the highest 22 runs for RCB. S Bharat scored 16 runs after him. At the same time, Virat scored 5 runs while playing his 200th IPL match. While de Villiers could not even open the account.
