Aamir Khan and Sudhir Gupta
Sudhir Gupta of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh Mandsaur sparked new controversy and prompted it by holding actor Amir Khan’s name for responsibility for the population imbalance.
Sudhir Gupta, known for his unusual speeches, on world population day reportedly mentioned that "Amir khan left his first wife Reena Dutta with two children, Kiran Rao with one child and now, at the age of becoming grandfather, he is looking for a third wife.”
"Those who claim that people like Khan have no brains for job other than selling eggs’ were correct" CNN News18 quoted a BJP spokesman. He also mentioned that Pakistan during partition, got a vast portion of the land but a comparatively lesser population, and that too had forced a large chunk of the population back into India without partaking any land in lieu of the same".
Worried about India's growing population, Gupta added that while the population has grown to 140 million, India has not added an inch of land.
Significantly, on the occasion of World Population Day, the need for decisive action increased as the population grew. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has issued a policy of residence. At the same time, Assam's Prime Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke about the latest decisions on demographic policy.
