New Delhi: the Supreme Court took the decision, on Wednesday afternoon and decided to take suo motu cognisance of the violence that took place in UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri, where 8 farmers lost their lives, after a vehicle ran and ploughed over the protesting farmers. Justice NV Ramana along with Justice Surya Kant and Hima Kohli are further scheduled to hear the Suo Motu case on Thursday. And furthermore are likely to receive a response from the Uttar Pradesh government, as to why no serious actions have been imposed or taken by the police for the arrest of the victims who are responsible, for injuring and taking the lives of 8 farmers. 

On 3rd October, it is clearly seen in the viral video that, a Black SVU is allegedly ran over the protesting farmers which resulted into the death of 4 farmers on the very spot, and the vehicle is reportedly belonging to the Junior Home Minister Ajay Mishra Teni, and is violently driven by his son Ashish. With all this massacre, the farmers lynched over the three occupants of the vehicle, with this incident the death of a journalist was also reported.

Asking about the question the union home minister denied that his son was not present in the vehicle, and the driver panicked and lost control which in turn led to this massacre. Even on Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh police had registered an FIR against Ashish Mishra, as he was connected with the case which resulted in the death of 4 farmers.  The Supreme Court further took the decision on Wednesday afternoon, and has listed three judge bench marks who will give their verdict on the case.
