Liquor licence holders are permitted to trade alcohol in the city. Home delivery of liquor through apps and websites were also allowed by the Delhi government on tuesday. The Delhi Excise (Amendment) Rules 2021, that was notified on Monday, allowed licence holders to deliver alcohol that is booked through apps and websites.
Dealers with L-14 licence are only allowed for Home Delivery. According to the notification, “The licensee shall make delivery of liquor at the residences only if the order is received through the mobile app or online web portal and no delivery shall be made to any hostel, office, and institution.”
As observed last year, the Supreme court ordered the states to deliver alcohol at door steps.
