On Friday, a decision to extend lockdown in seven districts due to Covid-19 was taken by the Arunachal Pradesh Government. The districts where lockdown has extended are Tawang, Anjaw, Namsai, Itanagar, Lohit, Lower Subansiri, and Upper Subansiri.
A meeting under Chief Minister Pema Khandu with the State Disaster Management Authority was held to evaluate the Covid-19 situation of the state and to see how the state has prepared for the pandemic, where the decision to extend the lockdown was taken.
"Following deliberations, it was clear that Arunachal Pradesh is yet to come out of the danger zone, and we must continue to take strict measures to contain the spread of the disease and save precious lives. In greater public interest, we must all continue to take evidence and science-based decisions in tailoring our public health response," said by the Chief Minister.
