Mumbai Police creating awareness about lockdown
Rajesh Tope, Health Minister of Maharashtra, Friday announced the extension of lockdown by 15 days. The lockdown-like restriction has been extended to curb the spread of Coronavirus. A new set of guidelines for the new attachment will be issued on June 1.
"As far as lockdown is concerned, 15 days' extension has been given, but the guidelines related to it will be issued on June 1," The health minister told the reporters.
"No relaxation will be given in the areas where the number of patients and positivity rate are still high, and hospital bed availability is an issue," he said.
"But in the areas where the situation has improved, certain guidelines (easing the curbs) can be issued," he added.
The state's Chief Minister earlier said that the lockdown-like curbs in the condition would be lifted in a phased manner. He also said safety measures should be maintained strictly even though the cases in the state are declining.
