Malala was an education rights activist, based in Pakistan. She was shot by the Taliban in 2012, when she was 11, for speaking out for the educational and economic rights of a girl child. She was later hospitalised under critical care in Birmingham.
She then moved to her home in Birmingham, housing her family, and pursuing her campaign for peace and sanctity from there. After 2014, when her surgeries were under control, with her father's help, she had set up the Malala fund, to raise money to fund and substantiate every girl's education.
Her graduation in Philosophy, Economics and Politics was completed from Oxford University, in 2020. Her struggle had her recognized as the youngest Nobel Laureate in 2014.
