Masood Azhar, the Kashmir head of the Pakistani JeM, was murdered in Tral.
On Saturday, a prominent Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist who had been operating in the Kashmir Valley since 2018 was assassinated in a well-coordinated mission by the Indian Army's Victor Force, commanded by General Rashim Bali, and Jammu and Kashmir police and intelligence operatives. Mohammad Ismail Alvi, also addressed as Ibrahim, Lamba, Lala, Lambu, and Adnan, was Mufti Abdul Rauf Asghar's security when Masood Azhar Alvi was sick in Bahawalpur, Pakistan.
Ismail infiltrated the region via the Shakargarh area during the first week of May 2018, as per intelligence sources, and has been involved in multiple terror acts since that day. He also enlisted the help of a few locals to join the JeM in the valley.
In the Pulwama assault in February 2019, a native of Pakistan's Bahawalpur, the JeM's worldwide headquarters, had also been engaged. Yousuf Azhar, the brother of Maulana Masood Azhar and the commander of the Balakot training academy, and Mufti Abdul Rauf Asghar were his key managers.
He attended the JeM training centre in Jaba-Balakot, Manshera in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, as well as the JeM Markaz in Bahawalpur in Pakistan, before crossing into India. According to top sources, Ismail learned with the Taliban in vehicle-borne IEDs, which are commonly employed in Afghanistan and were also utilised in the Pulwama assault.
