The oxygen requirement has increased rapidly in patients in the whole country during the second wave of Covid-19.
Dr Ravichandra, Chief Medical Officer of the National Tuberculosis Institute, Bangalore, urges people to alert their low oxygen level. He told about the symptoms of low oxygen level, which includes confusion, difficulty in breathing, bluish face or lips and difficulty in waking up. Chest pain may develop in adults, and children may experience difficulty breathing, problems in eating and drinking, and burning up of nostrils.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) released a press in which Dr Ravichandra has described important points for oxygen level restoration in the body and the benefits of the patients on oxygen support.
He also said that "80% of Covid-19 cases reported are mild. Only 15% of Covid patients may have a moderate disease where one's oxygen saturation level may go less than 94%. And the remaining 5% Covid infected people may end up having a severe disease which shows respiratory rate higher than 30/minute and oxygen saturation level less than 90%."
