The civic body of mumbai has given a deadline of 24 hours to its officials to set up drive-in
vaccination centres in each administrative zone in the open areas. These open areas are
grounds like andheri sports club ground, Oval Maidan, Brabourne stadium, MIG ground, MCA
ground, Reliance JIO garden or even the Wankhede stadium, said the Brihanmumbai
Corporation(BMC).The vaccination area will have adequate and proper temporary shelter to
accommodate vaccination staff, arrangement for patients of AEFI, ambulance etc,BMC added.
This iconic move has come after the setup of the first drive-in vaccination centre at dadar for
senior citizens and specially abled population, which came out to be a successful drive after
vaccinating more than 5000 people per day and with a hope to kickstart the vaccination drive
this decision has come into force.
