In the war against the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of active cases in Mumbai has almost halved in 20 days. On May 8, Mumbai had 52,000 functional issues, whereas the number decreased to 28,000 points on Friday. This means that active cases in Mumbai went down by 45% in the last 20 days.
In the first week of April, the positivity rate of Mumbai was 27% which also came down to 3% in the last week of May. At the same time, the recovery rate and death rate is 93% and 2.09%, respectively.
Mumbai has reported 1,038 new Covid-19 cases and 25 fatalities on Saturday. The total number of Covid-19 cases and recoveries are 7,03,560 and 6,58,056, respectively. The total number of deaths is 14,775.
As per the data shared by the State Health Department, Mumbai's active cases was around 90,000 in the first fortnight of April. On 22nd April, this number also came down to 82,616. On May 1, the number of active cases was 63,325 and went down to 52,000 on May 8.
