NCP chief Nawab Malik said Friday he received a threatening phone call from someone warning him not to attack Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) director Sameer Wankhede.

Nawab Malik said a complaint had been filed in response to the threat. The call was from Rajasthan, he said.
The NCP chief, who launched attacks on Sameer Wankhede in connection with drug trafficking in Mumbai, even targeted his family. He had previously asked: “During the Covid in Dubai and the Maldives. He said he even had pictures to determine the same thing”.

In response to the allegations, Sameer Wankhede, regional director of the NCB unit in Mumbai, told India Today TV that his family had been attacked by Nawab Malik and that he would take legal action.

"The minister is saying wrong things. It is an absolute lie. I went to the Maldives with my children for a vacation. I took proper permission from the competent authority for the same. I didn't meet anyone, and I don't want to clarify these kinds of accusations further. In December, I was in Mumbai, at the time when he said I was in Dubai. This can be investigated," said Sameer Wankhede.

It wasn't the first time Nawab Malik had targeted the BCN or Sameer Wankhede. He had made allegations against Wankhede shortly after the drug crime in Mumbai became known.
Nawab Malik had claimed that the alleged recovery of illegal drugs on the cruise ship off the coast was "wrong" and that the arrests were based solely on WhatsApp chats.

However, Sameer Wankhede denied all allegations, saying everything was legal. BCN then issued a statement that false information about Sameer Wankhede was being spread on social media.

Several people, including Aryan, the son of Shah Rukh Khan, have been detained for drug offences
