Odisha aims to vaccinate 300,000 people daily starting Monday
Odisha health department targets to issue 3,00,000 doses of covid virus vaccine daily by starting Monday with the aim to cover all the eligible residents of Odisha.
Odisha delivered 9.677 million doses, including 3.706 million double doses given to 1.853 million residents from 16 Jan, since vaccination began.
PK Mohapratha, additional chief Secretary of State health department said that within possible least time the vaccination should be completed throughout the state to the age groups of 18 to 44 and over 45 aged. For this vaccination, consumption of available vaccine stock should be used, he said.
Odisha requires 61.8 million vaccine doses for 30.9 million eligible people. 3.01 million women and 4.266 million men received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Bijay Panigrahi, nodal officer of vaccinations in Odisha, reveals his past experience like the state Odisha has vaccinated last time in 2018 when 11.2 million people with age group 9 months to 15 years. At that time we vaccinated people on a huge scale with the Measles-Rubella vaccine.
The covid vaccination campaign is overlong. It is testing the skills, spirit and courage of the health worker no like in the past, he added.
